Call Weir’s people. “Wine, Women & Shoes” is coming to Palm Beach.

Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 12.20.23 PMPoor Johnny Weir. TMZ recently reported that our favorite gender-bending figure skater (and one of Rachel Zoe’s kookiest fashion clients) is going through a terribly nasty divorce. He may lose his collection of luxe kicks – 1,300 pairs to be exact – but refuses to give up his precious pup, Tema. You go, girl!

Still, 1,300 shoes are a lot to lose so we came up with a solution we think Johnny, and anyone else with a foot candy fetish, is sure to like: Big Dog Ranch Rescue‘s inaugural “Wine, Women & Shoes” fête on Saturday, March 29, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

A-list guests will enjoy a decadent afternoon of lively wine tastings, creative hors d’oeuvres and a plated lunch, and a fashion show. They’re also invited – Johnny, are you listening? – to go shoe-shopping. Cue angels singing.

One is a very lonely number so we cherry-picked 10 reasons to attend:

10. Let’s knock this one off first. Luxe Vivant’s Kerry Shorr will be judging the “Best in Shoe” contest and she’s keeping a gimlet eye open for your one-of-a-kind pair.

9. We heard some local news stations might be there with cameras. Let your friends and family know so they’re ready when you flash across their TV screens!

8. 2 little words: Shoe Guys.

7. Neiman Marcus Palm Beach fashion show will feature the seasonal must-haves you need to update your wardrobe for summer. Are your tresses begging for inspiration? Check out the runway models chic, high-intensity hairstyles, coiffed by Frank Cassi Hair & Beauty.

6. How does that line go: “If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for me.” Or,  you could just do it for the dogs and puppies at Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Proceeds from the event will help hundreds of displaced canines in need.

5. You may think your closet is (reality) show-ready but wait until you get a look inside this one! One Key to the Closet winner will take home thousands of dollars worth of goodies (moving truck not included).

4. Like a good workout, shopping offers many positive and physical benefits. Get ready to work your arms, legs and core at the marketplace and live and silent auctions. Your banker may not like it but your personal trainer will be ecstatic.

3. When in Rome…this is a wine event after all and even if you don’t consider yourself an accomplished oenophile, you do love a good grape. So indulge in a glass or five. We won’t tell.

2. Palm Beach boasts some of the most stylish women in the world. This is just another chance for you to prove it.

1. We’re listing the Shoe Guys again because they make excellent spotters (see #4). They’re cute, too.

Girl and dogLuxe Vivant recently caught up with six members of the “Wine, Women & Shoes” committee. Here, this accomplished collection of well-to-do women weigh in on wine, designer shoes, and the true meaning of charity.

EMILY PANTELIDES
Board Member, Big Dog Ranch Rescue
Event Chair, “Wine, Women & Shoes”

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
The fashion, shoes, vendors, Mar-a-Lago, and the money we are going on raise to save thousands of dogs.

Charity philosophy:
To whom much is given, much is expected. We’ve all been so blessed and I think it’s important to give a voice to the voiceless.

Favorite wine:
I’m a red wine drinker but I wish I liked white more, for my teeth’s sake. I can’t wait to try all the fine wines at our event especially the DeLoach 2011 Estate Pinot Noir.

Favorite shoe designer:
I adore Sergio Rossi shoes, but they hurt like heck.

ENID ATWATER
Public Relations Director, Venue Marketing Group

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
The guest’s fashions will be so stylish, I can’t wait to see friends and their chic outfits. Certainly the fashion show, the shoe guys and the vendors will also be a highlight.

Charity philosophy:
I am fortunate to have a blessed life for which I am grateful. When I see hurt, disappointment, and discouragement in others, I jump in and share my resources and abilities.

Favorite wine:
La Crema Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Both are silky smooth and well-balanced.

Favorite shoe designer:
I love my Ferragamo’s for work, they’re timeless. Tory Burch flats are my choice for casual. We are also very grateful to Manolo Blahnik for their support of this fundraising event.

AMY BRADSHAW
Equipment Administrator & Inside Sales Representative, Nortrax, Inc.

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
I am looking forward to seeing people enjoying this fabulous event and raising as much money as possible for the dogs.

Charity philosophy:
Charity is the highest form of love. When our affections are perfectly ordered, it unites us with God.

Favorite wine:
I am not a connoisseur of wine and only drink on rare occasion.

Favorite shoe designer:
I love Christian Louboutin.

JULIE HOPPER THOMAS
Board Member, Big Dog Ranch Rescue
Committee Member, “Wine, Women & Shoes”

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
I brought the “Wine, Women & Shoes” concept to our Board of Directors in 2012. One of the WW&S marketing gurus is a friend and I loved the idea.

Charity philosophy:
Philanthropy begins with the ability to envision a better world and the belief that we each have to power to help make that world a reality. Through our support and foresighted thoughts, we can help create a better world for living beings.

Favorite wine:
Veuve Clicquot because I’m all about the bubbles.

Favorite shoe designer:
Manolo Blahnik, there is no other.

JENNIFER LOISEAU
President, Jennifer’s Designer Exchange (site under construction)

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
Helping save the lives of so many dogs through an event of fashion and fun.

Charity philosophy:
We are put on this earth to give back.  There is nothing more important to me than supporting charities that make a difference.

Favorite wine:
Tignanelo.

Favorite shoe designer:
Chanel.

AMY REID
Marketing Director, Gillon Media

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
If I said I was looking forward to anything more than the food, I’d be lying. This girl loves to eat! The fabulous company and brilliant shoes I get to soak in while helping the dogs is certainly an added bonus.

Charity philosophy:
I wish everything worked like charity. We get to hang out with friends, enjoy great wine, and help the community. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Favorite wine:
My palate is neither sensitive nor discerning. I’m hoping to meet my perfect taste mate this weekend.

Favorite shoe designer:
Christian Louboutin, how I love thee and those red soles. Here’s the thing about his shoes: I hate to see them go, but I love to watch them leave.

ELISA SAUNDERS
English Teacher, William T. Dwyer High School
Finest Women of the Year 2013, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Why she’s excited for WW&S:
I am looking forward to being involved in a unique and fun organization that does great things for charity.

Charity philosophy:
Give back and do for someone else what has been given to me.

Favorite wine:
I’m unable to drink anymore but I am glad that people can enjoy all the wonderful wines of the world.

Favorite shoe designer:
I love all shoes but I have a special place for a good pair of Jimmy Choo’s.
