Last-Minute Mother’s Day Gifts

I often wonder how women become the wonderful mothers they are.

Author Jill Churchill once quipped, “There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.” I don’t want to be disagreeable, but my mother comes pretty close to perfect.

She’s a Sagittarius, which means she’s straightforward, has a wicked sense of humor, and has the inherent characteristics of a heroine of literature: beautiful, bright, and stubborn. She’s Irish so, naturally, she’s stubborn.

She is also impossible to shop for. She never needs anything. In fact, she only wants a card and a family-cooked meal for Mother’s Day. See what I mean? Stubborn.

So what do you give the persnickety mom like mine for Mother’s Day? Here are ten ideas she’ll love.
